What happens when I set the Rev Limiter on the Programmer to 6200?
Will there be any long term problems, noticeable differences in performance or should I keep it at 5800? Will the 5800 rev limit level cause problems in the end also?
Thanks!

It will have no effect other than to set the RPM's maximum limit.
It probably really isn't of value to raise it above 5800. I feel that the engine is done pulling below this limit anyway. If you make changes to the engine , and the power band is moved up then it might be of value, but how often do you want to take it above 5800?
For racing, maybe. I left mine at 5800.

After tearing down the 4.3 from my Blazer, picking all the broken pieces of the number 5 connecting rod out and just looking over the rest of it, including those strange looking offset crank journals, I've actually thought about lowering the rev limiter in my crewcab! HJ is right too. The 4.3 is pretty much flat on it's face by 4500 - 5000 rpms. Just isn't any point to twist it higher.

Just lower your shift points ~2-4 mph and your truck will shift at around 4500 rpm. Ive found the best shift points for my truck are 1-2 -1 (4900rpm) and 2-3 -2 (4800rpm). The power specs on the stock 2003 4.3 in the crew cab are 190hp @4800rpm and 250lb-ft @ 2800rpm...pretty sure about those #s.
And I dont think you'd really want to be bouncing the engine off the rev limiter at 4500rpm anyways, because when it engages the rev limiter it cuts off fuel to the engine....
