Well, I watch pretty regularly, I don't care about what they're driving, Kasey Kahne has the crappiest luck on the circuit, either that or that Dodge he's driving is bad luck.

Didn't believe it when I first read the article in Newsweek or Time but, F1 has about 10x the followers and 20x the income. Just think......no rain delays and the cars can turn tight on a regular basis

Wrong on all counts
WRC Rally is where the real drivers are, even if you can't understand em.
Oh--and here's a 3 min highlight video if youre bored and can download a 70 meg file from me....
oops -- forgot to turn my FTP server back on after a power outage yesterday -- lemme see if I have it here at work.....

I knew when I posted that "John" didn't sound right. You are right . "Mark" is correct. Actually saw him race at mid ohio. Amazing what the duo of Mark and Roger Penske did in the 60s and seventies. Thanks for correcting me.

Man I love Mid Ohio. I have seen many good races there. It is a great natural terrain road course. Almost as good as Road America.f9k9 wrote:...Actually saw him race at mid ohio.

Well, I'd have to say that I love NASCAR racing but hate NASCAR the organization. I watch it and keep up with it religously. I too am a Chevy fan but don't put down Fords because they have some great products. They have some crappy products too but so does Chevy.
I hate to correct you SomeCrew but Ford does not use a Chevy 350 Big Block. All the engines that are used in NASCAR are based on the 358-cubic inch "small block" V8 that was first designed back in the 1950s. The car manufacturers provide the engine block, cylinder heads, and intake manifolds for their engines. The engine block and heads are custom made by the manufacturer so it's not an engine you will find on the street. The rest of the development and construction of NASCAR engines is left up to the mechanics in the team engine shops. They have restrictions that are put forth by NASCAR so basically it keeps all the cars about the same.
Anyway, I hate to single you out SomeCrew but I want everyone to have the correct info.
I have some knowledge on this because I do contract work at the Daytona International Speedway and have talked to a lot of drivers, manufacturers, and team techs. Also, the company that I work for did a documentory on NASCAR so we learned a lot about it during our research.
The information that I provided above about the engines are not in my own words, I quoted them from our research. I think there is a web site somewhere that has this info but you would have to look it up. We filmed at just about every track during the '01, '02 and '03 season so we picked up quite a bit of info.
I know a lot of people aren't Jeff Gordon fans and don't like him but I would have to say that I root for him every week and I'm sure that Jeff024 does also judging by his username. Actually, I'm a Rick Hendrick fan so as long as one of his drivers win, I am happy.
If any of you guys are interested in some good pics, I'd be happy to post them.

Here are a few pretty good pics as examples:
This is our crew shooting in Jeremy Mayfields pit at Talladega
This is a shot of the Pepsi 400 on the SuperStretch at sundown
Here's a shot of some cars coming out of turn 2 at Charlotte. Cars are kind of blurry because of the speed
This is a pic of me with Steve Park in his car transport trailer. We sponsored his AOL car at Vegas in '03.
Let me know if you want more good pics.
