Cut'n bang'n out rear of front fender for tire rubbagage

Post by quickbiker »

Anyone got any good pics of how they did up the rear of the front fenders? I've already wacked them with a hammer, but he corner still get's in the way. I am thinking to just sawzall the corner off and fill it with putty. Any input? I just put new tires on it, so I notice it more now, ugh. lol

You may just need to wait for KCustom to finish those "cut-out" flares.

That would be the best "future" option, though you may wear out those tires, or the fenders waiting.

I hate to see you make cuts that can not be made to fit the flares if they do become a reality.

Roger that. Maybe I can put up with it. I put up with it the last tires I had. It hits on the dull part of the metal and ust makes some rrrrr noise. It didn't do anything to ruin my last tires. My last ones lasted 45k miles, which is very long for the type of tire. Thanks.

the fender was cut off about 1.5 inches and grinded into the rest of the shape of the fender to look the same from the side then i made a small piece of steel that was the shape of the cut and welded it on. its welded on but not yet finsihed in the pic. i am going to do some more grinding then welding, then bondo then more sanding. it will then be repainted and look pretty much likeit did before the cut. the pic shows only step one in closing the gaping hole that was there after the cut

OK. We put 33s on our truck with only a 2inch body on it. There was a lot of cutting involved. Right before I went away my boyfriend recut the fender because of rubbing on turns. It did OK until I got to PA. Then started again. Now we both get annoyed at the rubbing because it is killing the tires and there are slashes from the in wheel well. So hopefully we will do the rest of the lift soon, so we don't have to hear it crunch.
