Am too lazy to do a search but, someone here had a similar problem.

Unhook the battery and try again in 1/2 hour :D

Hope it works :!:

Here's the topic. It's worth trying. I hope it works for you.

I was sitting on an incline on a rainy day recently trying to make a left turn onto a busy street. I normally put mine in 4 HI to get a little traction in wet weather to make a turn when traffic is heavy. Mine just clicked and the 4 HI light blinked but, never engaged.......... . Might have been an incline like the boat ramp that Jeff had problems with in the topic I linked you to.

Anyway, I tried 4 HI a few moments later when I was moving and it worked.

He didn't mention if ignition was on or off but, since he unhooked his battery while changing antifreeze I assume it was off. :)

BTW..........Welcome to the site :thumb:

I know somewhere on this site is a much more detailed discussion involving Quickbiker's CC on how to diagnose and fix the mess. It goes into how to pull codes using the 4wd lights and everything. Unfortunately, when it comes to internet searches, I couldn't find my way out of the proverbial phone booth! I'm hoping HJ jumps in here with the link.

Edit: Ok, try this: http://p207.ezboard.com/fs10extremistsf ... D=42.topic

I see you have already fixed the problem, but just in case it helps anyone I had this same problem once and the dealer replaced the encoder motor and it has worked fine ever since. :D

Not so fast ...the link in that thread is dead so the thread is useless

I'm sure glad that disconnecting the battery cable to reset worked :D
