New Shocks (for TM 5" lift)
If I have a 5" TM lift does that change the size if I want to get Bilstein shocks?

What does TM recommend?
I really do not know the answer for your question but, I do know that if you go to the Bilstein web site that they do list a part number for lifted S-10/15s.
Look Here

They have an application feature to buy shocks. It has a selection for a stock S-10 4x4, 1-3" lifted, and 4-6" lifted.

Does the TM require longer shocks?
I thought it relocated the mounting points to use the stock length shocks.

Nope It requires longer shocks
after the shackles and the add a leafs though my shocks top out before my suspension does and lifts the tire off the ground, I know it is bad for the shock but I do not know where I could get longer ones and will probably wait untill these ones die before I look at getting some longer ones.

You will have to take some measurements, With the shocks disconnected raise the body until the tires are just off the ground. Measure between mounting points.coffeedrnkr wrote:...after the shackles and the add a leafs though my shocks top out before my suspension does and lifts the tire off the ground, I know it is bad for the shock but I do not know where I could get longer ones...
This will give you the extended length. I like to have an extra 1/2" if possible.
Now let the usual weight rest on the suspension. Add some weight if needed to make up your average load. Measure again. This will give you the median position.
Don't worry about the compressed length, since it will be determined by the extended length.
You want a shock the will extend as far as your suspension + or - 1/2" and with the compressed measurement subtracted from the extended measure ment , being somewhat close to your median (normal ride height) measurement.
It is a real pain and usually requires test fitting more than once.
The problem that you will run into is finding the correct ends to match your mounts, and the correct length.
Just make sure where ever you get them that returns will not be a problem, if they don't fit properly.

I've heard that shocks made for a ZR2 with 2-3" lift will work, which makes sense cause a stock ZR2 has about a 3" factory lift over reg s10's. I like the shocks that came with the TM lift though which was the SSV for me. I'v had a stabilizer shock blow on me, and TM replaced free. I have blown the rear shockes and replaced with the same that I bought cause I was in a hurry, but TM will probably replace those also, they supposed to be life time warranty.
