So does everyone's fuel pump make a whinning noise?
(Oh! Maybe that's just my wife in the passenger seat! )
Mine is REAL loud. I can even hear it over the radio sometimes!
I know, I know. Time to get a louder radio, right?
So I took it by my local Chevy dealer and they told me that it was in fact the fuel pump and it was definately louder than any they had heard before. But, of course, it's not covered under my warranty until it actually quits working! Pain in my caboose! I think I ought to crawl under there and short the piece of junk out!!! Then they can pay the tow bill too!!
Or maybe it's time for the BFH again?

Mine is annoyingly loud as well. I can't hear it in the cab, but it is quite loud when standing outside the truck.

Re: Fuel Pump
So tempting to make a comment but my wife reads this forum occasionally! Anyway, yeah, the pump in our CC makes that whining noise and so does every other late model GM fuel injected vehicle we own. I guess it's just normal, but it is annoying.Pauleo wrote:So does everyone's fuel pump make a whinning noise?

Be worried when it quits whining.
If it does, call 911 and start CPR or she'll die

My wifes 200 Blazer did that for about a year before it went bad. The dealer said the same thing at the time. It is loud but working fine. It finally went out after the Manufactures warranty period. I had to pay $100.00 on my extended warranty to have it fixed. The pump its self was about $350.00 if I remember correct. The total bill was about $600.00!
Yeah. That figures! Right after the warranty goes out! That's what ALWAYS happens! I'm at least covered in that department. I bought my truck used and paid for an extended warranty to see me through to 100,00 miles. If the pump is gonna go, it BETTER go before that! I'm not gonna shell out $600 bucks for a stinking fuel pump on a vehicle with over 100,00 miles. I LOVE my CC but I never keep my vehicles that long anyway. I'm gonna keep until the warranty goes out & then see if Cheverolet has something a lot better looking than the Colorado to offer. I think those things are soooo ugly! (Sorry, just my opinion. Don't want to offend any Colorado owners browsing through this sight. )
