I think someone here bought a copy, Snowsurfer? Maybe?

Edit vs HPP3

Post by snowsurfer »

Yep, I got a LS1 edit, still trying to learn it though. Does a whole lot more than HPP3.
There's a few sites that are real helpful but it's definitely alot more to it than HPP3...

What did it cost you?

I'm jealous, I'd love to get my hands on that.

Will it let you reset/change the cold run parameters? Specifically the ECT/IAT threashold?

Does it use the same interface cable that Autotap uses?

Are you using Autotap to monitor the changes, or does LT1edit also have a monitoring provision?

Cost about 450.00 with the cable, yes it can program all the parameters you're asking about. That price is for 1 truck type, I believe it's about 1,000. for the unlimited version. not positive on the price. You need auto tap or any other scanning program and no it doesn't use the same cable. You can buy the cable alone from Speartech for 125.00 which by the way I have one that I never used but the software comes with the on board OBD11 cable. Some S10's 4.3 trucks have been known not to work with the OBD11 connection so you need to get the Speartech cable. I ordered the cable cause I live in Hawaii and I didn't want to be held up if it the OBD11 didn't work.
Needless to say it worked so I didn't use it. Your laptop needs a serial connection not usb, can't really use a usb to serial adapter either, too slow reading, pcmcia card works best. I'm still learning how to use it, far more in depth than a HPP3...There's a few sites with Camaro, Vette's that are really helpful an adivce LS1 programmers

I have seriously been thinking of getting the program for all our "low riding, "gone in whatever seconds" spoiled S-10 kids here in SE KY. Has to be cheaper than a dealer's "reflash"

I don't know a thing about LS1 Edit, however there are a lot of people at CamaroZ28.com that do. A search for LS1 Edit returned 500 results.

Just thought I'd pass the word incase you guys haven't seen that site yet.

 I got completely lost with the last two posts

Am I completely off base or is it a possibility that an individual that is drawing a decent retirement check could dabble in these edits for the "unbalanced" tuner crowd?

An upside would be the ability to help our CC friends:)
