35s fit holy s###

Post by bubaloo1983 »

forgive the profanity people but its true. went down to the tire dealer today to do some testing with new rims and tires.

my truck has 2 inch body and 5 inch suspension. i have trimeed fenders to the max ( nicely done i might add) :D  and 2 inch wheel adapters up front....

we mounted a 35 12.50 (Bfg All terrain) to a new rim that i may buy.....the tire dude said it should be the right offset ect...and put her on my truck. i drove around for a few minutes and went over a few bumbs ect and to my surprise there wasnt any rubbing...of course it was a tight fit but hey. i like the look alot better then the 33s i have on my truck so im going to get um i just need to get rid of my wheels and tires.

i wonder what the power loss will be but if theres alot i will go with something dont know what yet though to boost the trucks power.

but other then that it went well.

i will post pics when i get um...probably after i sell my current wheels ect

so those who think 35s are nuts with the lift i have are right i am nuts!

What is the backspacing on those wheels?? 4.5

I dont think I want to go bigger b/c my 33's do NOT fit in my rear wheel well and I do some hardcore wheeling.

Once my ifs hits the Sh*ts im ganna go sfa.

Well i have a blazer so my wheel wells might be a little smaller but when i stuff them they rub pretty bad not the front though b/c I did a lot of cutting.

I have rear shackles and the front control arms so we have either equal lifts or I have a slight bit more.

Ya I bought the t-bar relocators but My gas tank was in the way, for some reason it was different than jeremiah (the owner/maker) had never seen it before. I didnt have enough room to move the torsion bar cross member back, so I had to return them :( . I would have put them on otherwize though

But hopefully soon I will be doing sfa :D im ganna start getting the parts together soon.

Yea, that's my thoughts also! But I really don't want to start my SFA project for another 2-3 years, so I hope my ifs will last till then.

:o wow, you must have a LOT of fender cutting to fit 35s. I had the exact same 35" MT with 12" of lift with trimmed fenders, and they would rub a little turnin up curbs. but hell if they fit, good luck!

Looks like someone may go with a custom flat bed  . I took the bed off my truck back in august when i still had it (on the 40s), to add in a few cross members. It actually looked really sweet with out a bed

Warn, I want to know how you fit 40's in your wheel wells when you flex out. Or do you have some super duper bump stops before it gets to that point.

My 33's stuff so hard in the rear that the one that is stuffed wont spin  but that is when I am totally flexed out.

be careful. get some stops or limiting straps. i konw what you mean by totally stops. thats the way i broke my front shaft. i was taking a pretty hard steep line (rockcrawling) and my rear was totatlly flexed and i didnt know it and before i had a chance to get off the gas, the front hopped and BANG, it went...with stops, i could of just climbed right up and kept going :(

It sat so high over the tires it didnt matter. Ive it on 3 tires serval times, and it never touched the fenders

WAS  trucks gone  , it was only on 35s for a month or 2. It could have cleared 44s with ease for mostly street use.

haha the ol problem solver! nah, it would scuff a little in the rear, but i cut a section out of the rear of the fender about 1.5" high, 3/4" outward and boxed it in so it looked just like stock.
