Tire Size/Hoods

Post by Joseph »

I saw a tire size and brand that look like what I want to buy this spring when after this nasty weather is done. Firestone Firehawk P255-70-R15. Will this size work on my truck?

I'm saving up for a custom hood for this spring what would be better steel or fiberglass? I live in Illinios and winters can be bad around here. I've heard good and bad about both kinds. JH68

The size should be Ok, they will be about 1/2" shorter than the stock offroad tires.

You're brave enough to run a Firestone on a SUV? (SUT)

As for the hood , I say go steel. It will be cheaper for the prep work. And it won't warp when you leave it open in the sun.

Fiberglass takes lots of work to make it straight enough to paint. Even good glass.

I've been looking for solid white letter tires. I saw a set of them on a co-workers truck, thought they look like what I wanted. My dad said to me "You sure you want Firestones". They had a set of them that were recalled.

As for the hood their ones I picked out that only come in steel or fiberglass. Price has a factor on what I will get. JH68

If you decide you want a Goodmark steel cowl induction hood

You should check with Mike @ NoLimitsMotorsports Eardamage1@aol.com

I think that was his address. He is the one I ordered mine from and saved me quite a bit.

He usually hangs out on the S-series Forum check the Group Purchase forum (he is the moderator). He may be able to get you a good price on what ever you want if he has a supplier.

When you order it , if you can, have it delivered to a buisness address. You'll save about $50 in freight charges.

I can't wait for spring. I got my hood pick out so far. I like the look of the Firestones, they have the largest white letters. However, I will take a look at the BF's. JH68
