Tie rod Disconnected!!!!!
So 2 days after i put my 5" trailmaster lift on i went to tires plus to get it aligned. They charge me an extra 20 bucks because my car is lifted, ok and the bill came out to 100 bucks. I pull out of the parking lot and notice my steering wheel isnt all the way straight but keep going b/c i was following my dad that came with me to pick it up. I drive about 1 mile down a main road then turn off onto a low traffic residential street and the tie rod on my drivers side disconnected and my tire flung back into my fender bending the bottom of it and ripping out about 8, 1/4 inch chunks out of my 2 day old super swampers. My dad stopped and we immediately went back to the store. They tried to blame it on my lift but gave in and called a tow truck for us, bill on them. So my car is sitting in their parking lot right now and im going up tomorrow to have a little "talk" with them. I dont know what they will do about it but i am reallllllllly pissed at them.

The tire was brand new just mounted and 2 days old the tire still had its nipples. The fender i did some very slight trimming at the bottom to prevent rub but other than that in good condition.

Well i guess my dad went up there before i could and they were nice about it and were taking apart the front to reattach the front tire rods and align it again. I dont think they are going to pay for the tire or fender but the damage isnt that bad. oh well sh*t happens

I only have 3.5 backspacing and they rub pretty bad with all of my lift. But i just ordered fiberglass fenders with a 3" cutout and 4" flare so that should solve all of my rubbing problems.
I wouldn't attempt 33's without all of the lift b/c mine rubs pretty bad. If i cut out the bottom of my fender all the way to halfway to my door then it wouldn't rub at all but i wanted glass fenders anyways.

I dont know about where you live but down here every other truck I pass has some lift to it , granted its not everyday you see an s10 lifted but fullsize trucks are everywhere and they dont have problems with tie rods comming apart

It didn't really come apart. The guy that did my alignment didn't look at how many threads were actually in the turnbuckle in the middle of the tie rod when he adjusted it and it came out on one side when I turned b/c there wasn't enough threads in it.
