All,
Does anyone have experience with the HPP? It seems like a reasonable way to gain some power (at the expense of higher fuel costs for 92 octane)and improve the overly soft shifting.
Thanks,
Frank

Yes I've been running it for quite some time now.
I wouldn't go back to stock if you paid me.
I'm running the 87 octane power tuning , tire size 30.75 inch, +1 first gear, -1 second gear, -1 third and 0 fourth, shift firmness, 5800 rev limiter, 110 mph top speed.
The power tuning didn't make much difference that I could tell, but the shift firmness and tire size correction made it worth the money (to me).

I'm thinking this is my next mod to mine. I get the different setting like the power tuning, speed limiter, tire size, etc, but what is the "+1 first, -1 second, -1 third and 0 fourth" mean?

well i didnt get it cuz i dont want to run a 160 stat
and i dont want to put 92 octance gas in my truck.
so what are you having to do to put 87 in there instead of 92?
and did you put that 160 stat in there?

I guess I should say that the HPPIII has three performance power tuning settings, #1 stock, #2 87 octane, #3 92 octane.a2b wrote:so what are you having to do to put 87 in there instead of 92?

No changes are required for the 87 octane power tuning. It just fine tunes the programing, If I decide to try 92 octane I just re-program for that octane.
The HPPIII for 2001 does not use a colder thermostat.
I did try a 180* stat, but with the bigger radiator storing more coolant, it set the SES light , so I went back to the stock 195* stat.

Hey, I'm running the jet s2 chip, and Like it alot. It doesnt give you the other options with trans shift points, speed limiter, but... I did notice a nice power difference with it. And it's about $100 bucks cheeper.
