I am going to apologize in advance for what may become a leave of absence on my part.
After no school for 24 years, and a sworn oath that I would never need to go back!.....I just finished taking the placement testing for the fall and winter terms
Yes , I'm eating words and going back to school to get my EMT.
I'll start hitting the books beginning the end of September.
I will keep an eye on things a participate as I can , but my concentration may be elsewhere for a time.

You talk'n bout Emergency Medical Technician? Kewl, good luck. Can never have enough of those. I will be gone myself for about 2 months on a work trip.
Congratulations! I'm heading back to school myself for my bachelors. Hopefully things will go well...I started last night and am still a little nervous.

If I run into an excess of luck, I'll send a little your way
It has been so long that the College here really seems like another planet It is amazing how disoriented I feel trying to get my bearings and focus in the strange environment.
I did manage to do really well on all the RRR placement tests. Surprised me

And yeah, it ain't easy but you can do it. I went back at age 40 and got my bachelors in computers. Not that it did any good. I got canned just like all the other poor "dot comers" did and now I work in the mortgage business, shuffling paperwork. Oh well, it pays the bills.

Geez that would suck. The only positive thing I could see by going back would be the young ladies in need of math/science tutoring. It took me 7 years anyway to get my BSME. I'm not about go back now. Good luck!
After seven months with no life whatsoever today the weight was lifted after a very long day of "hands-on" practicals.
Yesterday I completed the written National Registry Exam, today I stressed through eight hours straight of practicals. Though it is not official I have passed the practicals, and now have a four to six week wait for the results of the written exam. (fingers crossed)
It has been a very long road and had I known how involved it would be I would have reconsidered the whole thing.
I am so glad that it is over! Now I can rest and have a life again

congratulations Brule. For me, I have another year of college then I will be going for my MBA back home in rhode island. one thing this school (RPI) has NOT taught me is writing and speaking which, to me, are the two most important traits in becoming a business owner. I have raised my opinions to the student body and with an increase in yearly tuition costs ($43,000 a year), i should be getting what i am asking for....
I might be starting online classes with the new job I got.. It is very possible... why not go to work and go to school at the same time for eight hours only and get paid for it..?

Good luck to you!! My wife became a nurse after years of being out of school...EMT's are always needed so I think you'll be fine.
I myself went to college right after high school and had the time of my life!! Good luck to you..
