querstion - Chrome rocker panels

Post by Walt »

Anyone know where I can get Chrome Rocker Panels for an 01 CC?

I realize that my choices are probably limited, BUT I'd like to find some that extend all the way down to the very bottom of the body. I've had the area behind the wheels (on the side and bottom of the body) repainted three times, and the warranty covers it with no problem, but I'm tired of taking it over there :-P I'd like to get some protection for the lower part of my truck, and I kinda like the way the Chrome Rocker Panels Look. But if anyone knows where I could get some shiny Black ones, I'll take those too.

I'm trying to decide between Black and Chrome for a "Bar" theme on my truck. Meaning Black Nerf Bars and Black Brush Guard, or Chrome?

Any Ideas? What type of Rocker panels I get will probably be the deciding factor.

Thanks!

Paint it with Rhino liner or something like that instead of conventional paint. Or buy some sheet stainless steel, paint it black or powdercoat it, cut it to fit and glue it in place.

I'm sure that the stainless rocker protectors are available for at least the 2nd generation extra cabs.

What about using the 3M clear protective film?

I'll be doing the spray on "liner" when mine get bad enough for a repaint.
This is a photo I "chopped" , quite some time ago-

I'd kinda like to stay away from the spray on liner, I'd prefer the 3m adhesive backed panels. I also don't have alot of extra time now, otherwise I would seriously consider making my own... :-(

I'd like the chrome ones, but It'd be awesome if I could some black ones (never seen any before). I called Big10 Tire yesterday and the guy said he could order some for my truck, but I'm a but skeptical because he didn't bother checking, he just said "we can get them so come on in!" They run $149 from them...

try JC whitney or some place like that as I think I've seen universal cut ones in one cat. or another. Pretty sure it was vinyl or plastic maybe but it was under 100bucks I think. I remember they had chrome look as well as colors. I think I do remember one of the cat. have real chrome ones but they were specific to each model so I don't remember seeing them for our trucks though. Check syling concepts as well as they do seem to have lots of stuff.

Good Luck,
