I need good info on 2" B/L

Post by Ken »

Hello all,

I am new to this site, but it sure looks like a good one. I have a 2003 GMC C/C ZR5 with less than 6k. Like everyone else here I am looking to improve it. (By my estimation anyway). After a lot of research and reading I feel that I have a good idea on what direction I will go. At this point I plan to do the Boise spring kit, (I have already talked to Mike about ordering them). Also a TB crank up (I would like to get 1.0” – 1.25”) on the front end but it does sound as if CV boots could become an issue with that much crank? I don’t want to loose too much of the factory profile “rake”. What I really want to know is exactly what to expect with the 2” PA 192 B/L. I have good mechanical background so I am comfortable with my skill level. However, I am concerned with knowing how much “modification” will have to be done. Particularly with the front bumper and lower valance, I hear a lot about having to cut it or make special brackets etc. I received a copy of install instruction from PA but wanted your first hand knowledge and input. I really do not want to get involved in having to “butcher” up a bunch of stuff to make it work. I do not plan on going over 30x9.50x15 with the tire so I know that the B/L is not absolutely necessary but would like to do it for the look.

Thanks,

Ken

Dive in :)

The lift will be no problem, just leave plenty of time to take things slow.

If your front valance is the same as the 2002 ZR5 , there will be no cutting required for the front valance. If it looks like the 2001 valance then it is not really as bad as you might think.

My T-bars are cranked as much as you would want to go and I'm not having boot issues.

Remember that extensions are not needed for the fuel filler hose , just extend what's there as much as possible.

Good luck , and welcome to the forum.

I just finished my body lift yesterday. I didn't have to cut the valance or modify the fuel lines either. The biggest thing with the front is to relocate the tow hooks you will have to come up with something.

Thanks for the info, I plan on doing the suspension first then maybe move on to the B/L down the road.

No on the Spare parts, I think I have it covered for now. But after I start the B/L I'll probably start breaking things  and may need something.
