Rough Idle

Post by pukas84 »

Can you folks help me. I went off roading when my SES light came on. On my way home the light turned off, but the idle became rough. Took it to the dealer for service, still under warranty, where they changed the computer and also changed my A/C compressor. Took it back again for the rough idle but did not find anything. Am going to take it back next week. Does anyone know what could be the problem so I can tell them what to check. Could one of the sensors, etc be dirty? Had to drive through some fine dirt while off roading. I have an airaid intake and a borla cat back exhaust. Thanks for your help!!! :D

Rough idle. Hmmm what about all those vacuum lines? Could it be possible one either got a small hole or is lose? I noticed alot of vacuum lines under the hood on my crew and I thought when I got it that if anyone of the how ever many lines came lose it would be murder to find it

Check your MAF sensor and make sure it's clean. If it's black or dirty, clean it with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Be careful though! The little sensors are very fragile nd if you break one, it's expensive to replace.

A few years back I had a dodge ram and the squirrels used to love to stash their nuts in my air cleaner.

Mine idled rough once and I barely kept it running. I was a long way from home, hunting in the Mojave Desert. Limped home and took it to the dealer the next day. The injectors had clogged up. ............

hehe no squirrels here in Hawaii.  My truck has about 16K miles on it. Scheduled to have my truck serviced in March, so will tell the technician to take a look at those items. Thanks for the good advices. My truck is still under warranty for a few more months, anything else I should have the techs take a look at?
