Best place to order PA body kit

Post by Nate »

Well, i just recently purchased a new 03 crew cab about 5 months ago and i finally have the Time to start working on it. I've been reading this board a lot and im hearing some stories that i wouldnt like to happen to me when im ordering my kit.

I was wondering wheres the best place to order the PA 2inch bodylift "WITH" all the peices. I dont want to order something from somewhere with half of what i need and then wait for them to ship the rest to me. Where could i call and ask them to take the time to make sure everything is included in the kit and not just "say" they will?

Where have most of you guys ordered your's from?

Thanks

First, welcome to the board. Good to see several new names popping up.

I bought my kit from a local shop. I paid more, but they would be responsible to get everything right if I got shorted. You do end up with a few spare parts left in the box. Throw them in the "spares" box.....

I got mine from Summit also, but it was missing parts. PA was real good about getting me the missing part though. Actually...they're only about 2 hours from Phoenix so i just drove there to pick it up. :D But they were planning on overnighting it to me anyway.

Although it's a different kit for my Blazer, Summit had the best price, and all the parts were included--I even had some parts leftover. My Kit was a PA-152.

Plus since I had never ordered from summit before they sent me a cupon for $10 off my next order.

Just curious -- what parts are the 192 kits missing usually?

From what I've heard, it's mainly the oil filter relocation brackets and the filler (and vent hose, if necessary) extensions. Also...the nuts included in the kit for re-attaching the rear bumper are the wrong size. I had to make a run to Home Depot in the middle of reassembly for the right ones.

Nate...make sure you loosen the fuel filler hose from the tank and reattach it with plenty of slack to avoid the problems I had with my filler neck breaking loose fromt he tank. You might also use a couple zip ties to anchor the hose to the parking brake cable guide on the frame to keep it from moving around as the bed rattles around going over bumps. Also...make sure there's enough slack in the ground strap that's attached to the fuel filler...just remove the zip tie that attaches the strap to the filler hose at the top near the fuel door.

Thanks for the info!

Just a few more questions  Will my stock gas filler hose still fit, or will i have to remove it and place it else where?

I finally got around to ordering it today, it should be in wed. and im going to throw it on this weekend if all goes well

I hope to have it on in a few hours. ( i work at a body shop  )

no need for the filler hose extension. Just loosen it up in case anything snags

Yeah...just loosen it at the tank and reattach it a little farther out on the filler spout to give it some slack.

I'd take the zip tie off the top of the hose that holds the ground strap to the filler hose too. It doesn't take the ground strap off, just gives it some slack.
