Quick tire opinion

Post by Mike H. »

That Jeep I bought has Bridgestone Duelers in a 31x11.5 size. They are like new and have a pretty rounded shoulder.

Considering swapping to the Crew. They look huge on the 10" wheels on the Jeep. Question is, do you think they would wear funny on a 7" wheel, and how bad would they rub? Also, are they even worth screwing with. The reviews on Tire Rack are not steller for them.

Which Model Dueler are they?

I'm putting money back for a set of the new Dueler AT Revos -- and the reviews for them are quite good. Plus my dad and a few friends all have them. The slightly olded Dueler AT D693 got pretty good reviews too.

If they are Dueler MT's I dunno -- those get prett good reviews as well.

The only Bridgestones I find on tirerack.com in 31 x 11.50 are the H/T which is a glorified highway tire that was designed to be an OEM tire, and it doesn't do that well in any condition. Also stay away from the Dueler AT D693 II -- the 693 is a fine tire, although soon to be discontiued, but the 693 II is an OEM tire for GM fullsize pickups and it is nothing close to what an AT tire should be.

To answer your question, I dunno about mounting them on a 7 inch rim -- Bridgestone.com's spec sheet only suggests an 8 inch rim - 10 inch rim. It's your call.

i am mounting 37x12.5 on a 15" rim on a 8" rim...its possible...sure some will tell you not to..but its not too far off....but either way i wouldnt do it..the crew isnt going to be able to hold it. you will rub...you will have to cut your fenders, and you will lose gas mileage out the yang

I answered this last night but now my post is gone. So here we go again.....

They are the H/T #689. Poor reviews.

I think I'm going to pass.

I have the Revo's and love them. I would not hesitate to recomend them.

Jason,

Your sig line says you're running 31's on a 16x8 Firebird rim -- is it a true 31x10.50x16, or more like a 265/70 or 265/75 you're running?

Got any pics? I have a buddy who has a set of 5 spoke Z28 wheels he's wanting to sell cheap, and I've been halfway kicking the idea around.
