Good Deal??

Post by Guest »

Man this is my third time trying....hope I don't have 3 posts on.
Looking at a 2001 crew cab with 48,000 miles. Guy is asking $ 11,500.
Has all the standard stuff....automatic, CD, convenience pkg., plus
a matching bed cap. I have had good luck with my "94 reg cab 4.3 TBI
with over 120,000 miles and now I have kids. Any trouble spots I should
be checking out when I go to look at it? Thanks!

According to Kelly Blue Book, for my zip code (32707), it seems to be. Go to kbb.com and check for yours. It says $13,000+ for that year and mileage with the standard features that came in that year, in "good" condition.

Thanks. I checked KBB and for my zip code (21502) it says about
$12,800. I didn't know if you can go by that, though. Don't know how accurate KBB is.

Depends on how you look at it. When I am selling a vehicle, it think it is low. When I am buying a vehicle, I think it is high.

At $11,500, sounds not too bad. Get him down to $10,900 or so and buy.

Look at everything real close. If the drive train is good and hasn't been beat up, I think it's a great deal. I like the 01's.

check Edmunds.com TMV as that's their blue book thingy. I've found that the trade in price is pretty much dead-on so I assume the private sale price is close too. Normally the numbers are less than the KBB prices so I think it is def. a better ref. to go buy. So since the price is lower than KBB, I'm betting the price is close to the edmunds TMV so it might be a winner.

Good Luck,
Con
