squeaky brakes.

Post by mouse1376 »

my truck only has about 16000 miles (26Kms) and the front brakes just started to sound like metal on metal. what is life expectancy with the factory pads? do i need new ones already? if not any ideas? thanks in advance.

It's probably just dust. Maybe take off the wheels and see if there's any grooves on the rotors and check to see how thick the pads are too.

You're not the nimrod that's been in front of me almost every night on my way home with one foot on the brake the whole way, are you?

If it is you... could you at least get out of the passing lane? :x

Wowzers. I just replaced my rear pads at 45k, they were just about to touch the metal warning doo jobbers.

I have 62,000 and still going on the original pads also. :D

By comparison, I only got about 30,000 out of the front pads on my old 97 ext cab. Disks all the way around makes a big difference.
