cigarette lighter keeps blowin fuses what gives

I bought a cigarette light for my truck and i stuck it in what i though was the ciarette lighter hole

but it blew my fuse. so i bought a differant one and that did the same. I even borrowed my buddies and same thing.. does any one have a darn cigarette lighter in there trucks. if so where did u get it... oh by the way i tried the acsesory plug too.

HA! another improvement for '03 I guess.

My '02 Sonoma came with a cigarette lighter in the pull down ashtray compartment and two accessory plugs under the dash.

As for the fuse blowing, I have no idea. But, I've used a million candle power spot light plugged into one of my acc plugs with no problems whatsoever. Sounds to me like you've got a short somewhere. Should be covered by warranty.

Same here, and I make use of all of them! No more 2 to 1 doo jobbers.

I think the first year the crew came with the works, now they are taking things out!

It seems silly that they would remove a cheap little part like the lighter in the models after 01. Mine came stock.

mine is an 03 gmc I have a plug in the ashtray and an accesory one underneth. total of two. unless you guys know of another. my radar detector works good and so does my cell phone charger on both of them but as soon as the lighter goes in the fuse goes.

I think im gonna look for a wrecked s10 and steal its.....

YEAH, MINE HAVE PLUGS, THE ONE IN THE ASHTRAY AND THE ACC. PORT

BUT I'LL TRADE A FULL SIZE SPARE FOR A CIGARETTE LIGHTER ANYDAY!
