Which way should I go?

Post by NTXCrew »

After all my talking about wanting to lift my truck (and my wife finds this very perplexing), I'm now tossing around the idea about actually lowering my crew now. Over on the other s-10 sites, you get shot for such desires invloving a 4x4. But it's not a ZR2, at least. Belltech makes a torsion key that will lower the front a good 3 inches, and then you can do 3 to 5 in the rear to level things out. No bags- I want to keep the 4x4 working. I'm hoping 20's will fit. But, then again, I'm being wishy-washy, so I think I stick to cosmetic and performace mod's until I decide which way to take her. I guess what I like is that it would be different to see a street s-10 crew cab...maybe with a Mach Performace supercharge setup or an LS1.....someday.

I may just have to buy an old Jeep Cherokee (that's what I want right now) to make a trail vehicle...... :D

Tell me what ya'll think. I know this different from the norm on this site.

get off my site :evil: :lol: :lol:

no, thats a great idea. i talked to our member in hawai and he is thinking of doing the same. i think he put 18's with 30's series and there was too much room left in the wheel well...

but i dont know about those 20's....get them and let us know if they rub...if you make friends at an american tire place or something, they will put rims on if they have them and see what size fits best....

but get your rims first, then fit your suspension to your rims and tires

you need some colored lights along the bottom too!!!!

BTW: the cheapest way to do color lights on the bottom of your car is to go to home depot and get the thick plastic string of lights and bolt them up

I don't want to be a copycat, but that's the one I've kinda been modeling. Actually, I just emailed him. I may do an Envoy clip conversion.... :D And I love his Boyd Coddington rims. He has 295's on 5.5 in backspacing in the rear: that's like 11.6 inches wide!!!! :D

In the pic you can barely see his blazer (fiancee's) and old s10 SS to the left, too.

Ok Ok -- I admit there was a time that I was going to go that route with my blazer as well, with a set of corvette rims, WS6 Firebird rims under it.

Belltech has quit testing that kit on anything newer than a 99. Yes I know that nothing significant has changed, but at the same point in time, I can't get anyone from Belltech to tell me that it will work either--and I have emailed them about it.

try S10forum, But also search on s-series.org, and www.blazinlow.com, Look around--that's where I found most of my information.

NTX,

Here's a thought too if you happen to go more for a lowered 4x4 -- try and find the transfercase/front diff out of an Astro AWD, or Bravada. Build yourself an AWD truck -- supercharger, grippy Z rated tires and you'd be stomping some honduhs. All while carrying a load of lumber :-)
[size=75]Thanks, CHRIS

If I ever get my rusty old Blazer running, I might go this way with my Crew also and just use the Blazer for the "trail rig". I know at least one on this board that has 'vette rims on their CC and I thought it looked pretty good.
