Hey I am new to this forum and just recently purchased a 2002 S10 Crew Cab 4x4 with the 4.3L and it smells like burning oil from under the cab of the vehicle. I can not see any oil leaks on the ground or any seals leaking. Any info would help.
Thanks and I look forward to chating with people on this forum.

Re: New Guy Need Help
Take a look underneath and see if there is oil on the exhaust crossover pipe. If there is look to see if it is coming from the inside of the bellhousing or running down from above.
A leak from inside would be the one piece rear main seal. This is the most likely. A leak from above could be the distributor , or intake seals.
If all of that is clean, look to the right front fender well skirt. There are some wiring tubes behind it. Something may be against that exhaust manifold?
