dead battery?

dead battery?
Ok, so every morning when I start my truck up, it starts up, but hesitates before starting, it turns over with no problem, just has a little hesitation before actually firing up. What could this be?

When you mean hesitation, you mean absolutely nothing happens, or you hear a starter clicking/turning, or the solenoid click, then nothing, then the engine turns over?
Sounds like you might wanna doublecheck your main battery connections - especially the ground, and all connections at the starter solenoid, and the starter itself.
Take everything off, clean it up, put em back on and smealer some anti-oxidation terminal grease on it.
You might also have a battery heading south - a dead, or nearly dead cell may not show itself until it's had a chance to sit overnight, and then has a load put on it.
Just a stab in the dark though.

Mine has the exact same problem that started around February. Since then, I have replaced the battery and the alternator (alternator died so unrelated to this problem) and cleaned the connections and it still hesitates when starting. Sometimes it turns over 4 or 5 times, sometimes it is like the entire engine shakes like it is barely turning over, and sometimes it just fires right up with no problem. As soon as I get some free time I am going to service the fuel injectors which it needs anyway, I am wondering if it is just not getting fuel when I crank it up. If you figure yours out it might help me figure mine.

I've had two separate things fail on my 97 4.3 that made had these symptoms. Although neither of these are on my CC’ I think they are similar enough to give you some things to look at.
1st. Ignition switch. There are 2 separate ignition switch accessory circuits in the key switch. One of them is on both while in the run and crank position (computer, fuel pump etc.) and one that is only on in the ignition position (radio, blower, lights, etc) The contact for the run and crank accessory power was ‘flaky’ only while in the crank position. So, sometimes while cranking the fuel pump, computer…etc would get a power hiccup or under - volt. This was maddening to troubleshoot and I didn’t find it until it actually broke and wouldn’t power them at all. Since I’ve replaced the ignition switch in a friends ’99 blazer and took care of the same problem. We were able to trouble shoot this one on the 99 blazer by someone standing at the rear of the vehicle and you could actually hear the fuel pump cut out for a second while cranking. A volt meter on the correct circut might show the problem as well.
2nd Fuel pump relay. My fuel pump relay was dieing. So sometimes it would fire up the fuel pump right away when you hit the key and other times it wouldn’t. When it was acting up you had to crank the engine until the oil pressure came up and then the backup system would run the fuel pump on a second circuit. If I remember right the backup looks engine RPM and oil pressure, if it sees both it fires the fuel pump through a different path than the relay. I’m not sure if this is the same on the CC’s but my fuel pump relay on my 97 was in the glove box, right next to the head light relay which just happens to be the exact same part. Swap them and see what happens.
