- Exterior Questions -
Hey there!
I had a few exterior questions:
(1) I am thinking of removing my factory installed blue - green pin striping.
If removed will ther be visible line from sun fading?
(2) The only damage my truck has is about five inches from the right side of the rear brake light, it is a five inch deep scratch filled in with what I think is nail polish or something. I am thinking of doing black pin striping and a small "4x4" logo to cover it up. Does anybody know of any 3" to 4" x 2" to 3" black 4x4 decals.
------4x4------ ( kinda like that )
(3) Also my tailgate has 2" chipped paint at the top where bed caps would go but a little lower.
How do I fix it? Touch up paint?
(2) I am also thinking of removing the decals : s10, chevrolet, and LS logos.
How do you do that? Will there be black glue left on top of the paint?
Thanks for the help, I tried searching but did not find anything.
Have a great day!

More then likely there would be a small "Ghost line" left under the pinstriping. There was with mine but mine was painted on and a real b***h to remove. If you have sticker pinstriping it shouldn't be as bad, I would recommend you order an MP3 Eraser Wheel. The wheel will take care of the pinstripes and yge black adhesive under the badges. My truck is red (prone to fading) so I had ghosting from both the badges and pinstripes. I'm currently trying to wax/buff them away.
As for the chips and scratches, try factory matched touch up and buffing.
There are websites where you can design any sticker decals you want, just sreach it.
Good luck.

I agree!Indigo04 wrote:A heat gun works nicely with removing pin stripes and emblems.
Add fishline and adhesive remover in the mix as needed.
A quick search for "4x4 decals" on ebay will yield lots of choices. I* picked up some nice flamed Z71 decals for my Avalanche.

I am going to removal the pin striping real soon
I completely forgot that took all the emblems off the topper, I told my brother to take off the stickers ( the ones in the window ) and I came back to find all the emblems taken off but after we put goo gone and he used his GUITAR PICK, works great BTW! You wouldn't know it was there!
Thought I would post here instead of making a new thread.
Does anybody know how to get the bedliner out without cracking it?
I want to check for rust - but man is it tight.
Just took the topper off for the first time, I think it's been on the truck since purchased.
Thanks for the help!

Don't you just pull the back center up and then roll the sides inward? Been a while for meLMs10CrewCab wrote:...

You will probably need to remove your bed topper to get the bedliner out. For both of mine I had to lift out the center and then I was able to pry the sides out and lift straight up towards the cab. Its difficult but it can be done. I recommend removing it completely and replacing with a spray in liner. The damage found under my stock bed after the liner was removed was horrible, though the bed was trashed already. Since I did not want to see that happen to the new one I removed it and plan on doing a rhinoliner later on.

Re: - Exterior Questions -
I actually just took the topper off, that's when I started looking at it!
I am planning on getting it all line-x ed'.
And planning on getting the whole sides done too like the S10 Crew cab baja series they never came out with.
Wisconsin winters rust out everything, I was really surprised that I found mine with no rust. That's why I bought it
I don't think the one owner before me ever took the topper off. So it's really clean on the inside.
Thanks for all the help once again!
