Okay, maybe I'm a novice, but I just now noticed that our rear shock mounts are part of the U-bolt mounting plate (at least it appears that way). So now, when I've been driving I've been looking at the rear shock mounts on other trucks. Most of the ones I've seen have the typical welded brackets on the tubes of the axle housing. Why (like everything else) is our truck different? Do you think one method is better: like better stability because they're further towards the corners of the truck? Warnoffroad, how did they do your rear axle?

Lots of down size trucks mount that way as well.

That does eat into ground clearance so that is a product to mount them higher.
