Hey guys I was wondering if anyone knew the exhaust size of our stock CC's? I think they are 2 1/4 but im not sure. Im looking into a new muffler and want to get the stock measurements right. Thanks

You have several options.DeiselRed wrote:So if i was going for a flowmaster muffler I would do 2 1/2 in 2 1/4 out?
Install a new 2-1/2" I/O muffler and reuse the factory 2-1/4" tailpipe. You will need a 2-1/2" OD x 2-1/4" ID adapter for the smaller tailpipe.
Install a new 2-1/2" muffler and have a shop custom bend a 2-1/2" tailpipe.
Modify a Flowmaster Force II exhaust system for the S10 extended cabs to fit the CC. This is what I did and it worked out pretty good since the extended cab S10 and CC are basically the same. The only downside is the high cost of the system.
Install a new 2-1/2" muffler and buy the 2-1/2" Flowmaster Force II tailpipe separately. The Flowmaster tailpipe is mandrel bent which increases exhaust flow which makes more power than crush bent pipe that almost all exhaust shops use.
Install a new 2-1/2" muffler and dump it (use a turn down with no tailpipe) to direct exhaust gasses toward the ground. This is the easiest set up, but also the loudest.
Buy a direct fit cat back exhaust system. I know Gibson makes one and I'm sure there are others.

No one has convinced me to change my $180 Flowmaster Delta 40 3" cat back in five years now.

Nobody is trying to convince you to get rid of it.f9k9 wrote:No one has convinced me to change my $180 Flowmaster Delta 40 3" cat back in five years now.
If you are happy with it, that's all that matters.
Flowmaster says 3" is too big for the 4.3L, but who cares what the experts say right.
I posted this info in the other exhaust topic.
You didn't really pay $180 for a $90 muffler did you?

The cat is 3" in/out. Not really related but the full size with the 4.3L did get the 3" pipe.
