are ya around?
Delphi lists 2 numbers FG0248 and FG0070 for the module which one is more robust? This will be 3rd pump in truck and its only at 55K
Anybody put in anaftermarket pump into the carrier with good results?
I see many Ebay repair kits and there is the possible Walbro pump
New here 2002 that needs fuel pump...

I usually go with the AC Delco pump. There was talk of a "robust" fuel pump. I don't recall what the answer to that question was.
The sender for the fuel gauge is usually not far behind a failing pump, that is why I go with a module. If time is on your side you could pull the module and inspect the module prior to deciding upon a pump only. I usually just save all the trouble and replace the module as I have yet to find a good sender after 70k miles or so.

Thanks Henry J do ya know which Delphi Module fits?
I have seen two diff numbers FG0248 older number and FG0070 newer number. My truck has been converted to the newer style injector head.
I was considering another brand of pump as the 1st two GM parts have not lasted very long at least the first was under warrenty and I have changed the inline filter regularly
Guess I will go with The Delphi ones again hope they have improved

Run on the top half of the fuel tank and treat it to some cleaner periodically.

I put 4 Oz. of Marvel Oil in every tank. I also run to the bottom 2 or 3 gallons every tank. 108,000 on my '02 and no problems with pump or gauge. Average 19.5 mpg driving in these Ozark hills about 36 miles round trip to work each day six days a week. I do run on cruise at 45 mph and up. What Cha Think ?

While you have the tank off, check this line going to the rear evap vent valve (or whatever that black box is called). Mine was almost worn thru from rubbing on the cab.
This shot is from the same angle just farther back for a better location.
I fixed mine with a rubber fuel line and hose clamps.
Just out of curiosity, let me know what you find if you have time.

Who has an old stock pump??? I need some measurements
1.output nipple where flex hose attachs to pump
2.body diameter
3.strainer hookp diameter
4. Boby length
5. overall length
I think a Delphi FE0114 will work to repair a module same pressures listed on Delphi website. Pickup tube measures the same and it has a abit more of a flow rate so it could be an upgrade.
IF nobody posts this next week when I get my new module in I will pull my old one and measure it
I will check that hose for chaffing and let ya know

Mine have no rubbing, but then I have a 2" body lift. This looks like one more reason the body lift is a GOOD thing.
