DTC P1441

Post by kwalsh »

Has anybody experienced this one yet, DTC P1441? :?:

I know it is for the Evap System...perhaps a leak at the purge valve?
could the filter on this purge valve, solenoid, be clogged?

Would it be the gas cap??

Much Thanks for any help or insight.

Regards.

Could be gas cap if it was not tightened past 3clicks, I did this on my GA and ever since I make sure that the cap is on past 3clicks to remove the gas cap from causing the SES light from coming on...could also be a leak in the hose to the tank or the Evap canister back by the fuel tank...or it could be the fuel tank vent valve. Or like I have heard on the Blazer forum some people have gotten this code when there was a large amount of snow on top of the tank....

Where,How, do you get these problem Codes? Do I have to have a computer reader or some such thing? I'm not paying some over priced Dealer to tell me to screw my gas cap on right.

auto zone and advance (and likely any auto parts franchise) will scan the code for you free of charge. Or, you can purchase an OBDII scanner for around $50. Scanning the code doesn't fix the problem but it will point you in the right direction.
