For the past 2 months my truck had developed a rattling from the exhaust that I finally diagnosed was coming from the converter, time and cash constraints dictated that I couldn't get it fixed right away.
Now I finally went and had it replaced by a local muffler shop ($160 installed FYI) and now I don't have to turn the truck off to place an order at a drive-thru. Accelleration is better, and it appears to be using less gas than it had been.
2 days later and I get a SES light. I haven't had a chance to have it scanned for codes yet, but anyone have any ideas?
Tonight I'm going to get under there and make sure they didn't damage or unplug the O2 sensor (If there is one down near the cat).
Other than that I dunno what it could be.

I forgot to plug in the rearmost O2 sensor when I ditched my precat.
That may be your problem?

Also check to make sure your gas cap is tight and doesn't have a cracked seal. I had to replace mine a few weeks ago because it had gone bad and was throwing an SES light.

Today's new malady - I can smell coolant coming through my climate control ducts.
Heater Core it sounds like.
