i have a couple problems with my sonoma
first problem is that im getting a rattling noise when im moving and it goes away when i come to a complete stop and second problem is that im getting a vibration during the first 20 kms after that it drives perfectly smooth
are the problems related with each other or 2 seperate problems???
im suspecting something wrong with the tranny

Re: whats wrong????
Why do you suspect the tranny? Have you checked your tire presure and had wheels balanced lately? Could be after the 20 k your tires have heated up enough to come up to presure. The rattle could be the hinge on the hood or many things. Where does it sound like its coming from?sonoma wrote:i have a couple problems with my sonoma

i meant from 0-20 in first gear i get alot of jerking and vibration and after it switchs gears its perfectly fine until i come to a complete stop again ...its really bad when i accelerate hard ....and the rattling noise sounds like its coming from underneath..would a wheel bearing make a clicking sound???
IS it a stick or auto?

No, but there are more than crews here and your anonymous profile makes it difficult to guess what you have.sonoma wrote:...they make stick for the crewcabs???
How about letting us now your make model and year.
Wheel bearings can make all sorts of strange sounds. You need to jack up all four wheels and place the truck on stands. Then try to narrow down the source. Push / pull the tires to find slack in bearings, Half shafts / CV joints or a drive shaft.
Look for rusty dust around the u-joint seals as a sign of dry bearings and a bad u-joint.
Use a dead blow hammer to gently tap on things in an attempt to find the "rattle"
If that is unsuccessful have a friend start it and from a safe distance see if you can narrow down the source as he/she puts it in gear.
If none of that seems reasonable. Use that friendly relationship that you have built with your local dealer and see if one of their techs can find the problem for you at a reasonable price.

Just curious, but how long does your truck sit between driving it, overnight, or a day or 3?sonoma wrote:and second problem is that im getting a vibration during the first 20 kms after that it drives perfectly smooth

The reason I ask is that I have heard of some brands of tires can flat spot when sitting for a day or 2, and you have to drive them a bit before the flat spot goes away.
Pirelli Scorpion AT's are supposedly pretty bad about this.
