I took my truck to the dealership yesterday to get my windshield replaced along with a list of other things to be fixed. I had heard a gurgling noise coming from the passenger side at low RPMs. The printout that I received says "leak at t-stat." I had noticed that my coolant had been getting lower and lower over the past month. They replaced my coolant and replaced the thermostat. The gurgling noise is gone now. I also was hearing a noise coming from the rear of the truck everytime I hit a bump. I figured out what it was a few weeks ago... There is a line that runs along side the driver side frame rail and through a hook to the brakes. Everytime I hit a bump, the line rubbed against the frame and in the hook. (You can see the hook by looking through the rear fenderwell) They put some sort of rubber on the hook and adjusted the location of it so it does not rub any more. My doors were squeeking so I asked to have them lube them... The read out says, "Out of Align - Align and lube doors." This would be the second time that my doors have been out of alignment. The last but not least problem, which was not fixed even though they say the noise was corrected is a knock in the front end when turning at a standstill or at slow speeds. They lubed the front end, but it still didn't fix the problem?? Any suggestions on what this may be so when I go back to the dealership on Friday, I can sound like I know what I'm talking about! Other than that one problem, I was very pleased with the way I was treated at the dealership this time.

Check to see if they lubed the T-bar sockets. If they did then check for the rear t-bar crossmember bumping the frame. It may need to be shimmed, or mounts replaced?

I took my truck back in today to have them fix the noise. I drove the tech around for about 10 minutes. The knock occurred at least 20 times! I was happy it didn't decide to not happen when I was driving him around. This is what the read out says: "Check for noise when steering... Steering gear box loose causing noise. R&R Steering gear box to tighten box. After test drive noise is gone..." They did fix the noise so I was pleased about that, but they did put on 25 miles, do you guys think that was necessary?? The good thing was back in the winter I had plowed through a small snow mound and I busted off part of my air dam valance below the front bumper. I decided instead of buying a new valance, I would just melt the peice back on from the backside. That worked great until today when they were driving my car. It fell off and they thought that they broke it!! So they ordered me a brand new air dam for free! So I'm happy about that. They gave me a peice of junk to drive today, it was an extremely base Chevy Cobalt. I'm pretty pleased with this new service manager up at the dealership though. Thanks for all of the advice guys.

The dealership called me to let me know that the new air dam was in and that I could bring my truck in on Friday. I brought it up on my lunch break and I told them that I had to get back to work. They gave me a 2006 Chevy HHR to drive. I went back up to the dealership after work and they told me that the piece wasn't the right color and it needed to be painted. So they let me keep the HHR and said that it would probably be ready on Monday. Good thing they let me keep it because it's great on gas mileage! 30mpg on the freeway. I had alot of driving to do last night too! I'd have to say that it's a very smooth running car, but just a little too smooth. I found that out the hard way last night on the way home from Sandusky on the highway. It just didn't seem like I was going 80! I got pulled over by a city cop, luckily not a state highway patrol man. But, I did have an F.O.P. card and was able to get out of the ticket. That made my night!
