Figured I would start my own thread.
If in wrong section, feel free to relocate.
She is a 2001 gmc sonoma sls crew cab.
I bought her Aug 2012.
I traded in a rot free 89 s-blazer w/204k in towards the crew.
Crew cabs out my way are overpriced & need work.
I got her with 109k miles, now has 116k.
Needed 2 Balljoints, 1 hub bearing, evap & battery tray, horn, fuel filler neck,
windshield, Hitch wiring, cap 3rd brake light, tires (dealer put used 31's on it, so they rub w/o
The lift) & a few other odds & ends.
Of course it failed inspection.
Dealer had the truck for the next 6 weeks & they said they fixed everything.
Dealer then went & had a passing sticker put on w/o my registration.
I of course bitched them out because all they fixed was the filler neck, windshield & add 3k miles.
My inspection station refailed the truck, so I spent the next couple of months fighting w/ the dealer.
Even got the states attorney general involved.
End result is the dealer had to pay for the parts & I get them installed, because I refused to let them
Work on the truck anymore.
The dealer had full brakes done including the hardlines before I took delivery.
The Rf hardline rubbed open on the frame after 5k miles with my wife & boys in the truck, luckily I was able to avoid the car pulling out from the side st.

The old non-working 1. With a cleaner 1 from work, that also works.

My buddy & I replaced the passenger side factory hub bearing & 2 Balljoints Fri night on his lift @ work.
Those rivets were fun 2 cut out.
We'll do the driver side next Fri.

Swapped the standard charcoal window switch plates for the bravada woodgrain plates.

Fri nite my buddy & I replaced the driver side hub bearing & 2 Balljoints.
No more hum.

Bought a new rear diff cover.
It's a dorman #697-701.
It was $11 & came with a gasket.
Also bought 2 cans of paint to use on the diff cover.
They were on sale @ advance auto parts.
2 for $11, reg $7 ea.

Make sure the gasket opens the carrier lube holes Can't hurt.

I use that paint, in flat black, on EVERYTHING!

The people on the Honda forums would love you. Switch it up to black plasti dip and you could blend right in with the VW guys.

swapped out the hvac (heat/ac controller) knobs for the bravada style.

I like the bravada style hvac controls actually. I may have to run to the bone yard and pick one of those up.

Got bored, so I took apart my maf sensor.
Sanded & high temp painted it to match the truck.

Took out my rear bilstein shocks, stripped them, couple coats of etching primer & a couple coats of yellow.
A little ocd I know.
But it'll look better now when people are behind me.
New England winters are brutal on vehicles.

For the month of July I: installed a rain visor on the sliding rear window, replaced the fuel filter, Reinstalled the leer cap & replaced the locks on the cap.

Drove to Orlando from Massachusetts, spent 10 days & drove back.
Only problem was the pinion seal blew out in south Carolina on the way down.
Local guy took us right in & charged us $80 for the repair.
Only other issue was a tire cap flew up & cracked my grille.
The crew cab averaged 19-20 mpg both ways on the highway.

replaced the broken tilt lever on the pass seat & blew the pinion bearing in the rear end.
