put seafoam in the CC today

Post by riceburnr2005 »

what a cloud of white smoke!! I was due for an oil change so i picked some up. The ticking in my motor went away almost immediately, which i thought was pretty cool. Then i filled it up with some Mobil1 full syn. Runs like butter.

Just a warning. Keep in kind that I am also a huge fan of seafoam and I sell a ton of it.
I spoke with the Rep for the company and he says "DO NOT PUT IT IN THE CRANKCASE OF A HIGHER MILEAGE MOTOR, DO NOT..." His claim was that it cleans a little to well and in some older motors it has caused complete engine failure when out in the crank case.

I picked up a can of the seafoam the other day, only becuase reed raves about it. I dont spend the time here I once did, but im always lurking, directions say 1/3 in gas, 1/3 in crankcase (will do it 200 miles before oil change) and last 1/3 in the pcv valve? But Im not sure we have one? Where do i pour it in at for that cleaning portion?

Ironically my crew had a rough idle the day after I bought the seafoam... so it might help, but hasnt idled rough since.

disconnect the vaccum hose going into the booster chamber behind the master cylinder. SLOWLY pour it in there a little at a time.

I am new to the GMC S-10 Trucks. Anyone have pics on where to pour the seafoam in? I have used it in the past and it has done wonders!

Is an oil change necessary for sea foam? I read somewhere that it is not necessary, but I trust you guys more.

If, you don't add it to the crankcase then there is no need. I never think ahead to add it to the oil before a change. 1/3 in the booster line and 2/3s in the fuel tank.

If you do decide to put it in the crankcase though what i do is throw in there maybe a gas tank worth of miles before doing the rest of the seafoam process.

Well, I'm about 1,000 miles away from an oil change. Just got done. I think I put too much in the gas tank, because at first it didn't want to ignite. This will NOT be the last time I use this product. Everything in the engine seems well lubricated now.

I swear that guy got out his towels and started detailing the engine every morning while on the Moab trip. It might have morning and evenings? ;)
I was embarrassed to open my hood and suffer ridicule. Only one person I have seen with cleaner stuff...Jim's undercarriage
