This past weekend we lost a local firefighter. I have known he and his dad for over 20 years.
Aaron Grant was 33 years young. Married father of two.

I am sure every department in our mutual aid district was represented. Engines lined the street on both sides for a mile. My ladder (right side above) and one from Weiser held the flag at the entrance to the cemetery.

This young man worked for his father who runs a petroleum distributor. He knew everyone in this valley. A partime firefighter, He was very involved. He was the training officer for his department, and I saw him on every fire. I will miss visiting , swapping stories and talking racing.

RIP Aaron.

Boating on the river. Crossed under a bridge under construction. A cable was hanging low. It missed the other two onboard.

A tragic accident.

A toast that a very good friend taught me.

"We come from the dust, we return to the dust. I spill my drink for those in the dust ...with hope that someone will spill for me."

I will spill my drink for him.

Seems quite a bit has been needed to be spilled this year. Be careful out there life is just to fragile and time to short. Enjoy everyday as if it were your last.

I was a volunteer fire fighter for about 5 years. You'll never find a closer knit band of brothers.

Sad news to hear.
