Hey guys, I've been a member ove ron S10forum for about 2 years now, and jsut joined up here since I bought an 01 Crew Cab last tuesday. Anyway, figured I'd introduce myself and show off a bit!

Anyway, i'm not entirely sure what to do next, besides drive it. It showed up the usual Fuel Gauge bounce, and I dumped a can of GumOut in and it cleared right out.

Careful with that "drive it" thing. it can be addictive.

Welcome, I'm assuming you are already aware of the plastic distributor cap, the bad transfer case vacuum switch, and location of the rear differential vent. Those are on the top of my list for preventative maintenance. Shocks are a must and there are a lot of cheap mods that can be done easily as well just to tinker. Have fun!

Thanks guys! And as a hint, my cheapo little fix to the wandering gas gauge didn't fix it.
I was given a 35000 Mile/3 Month Warrenty with a $100 Deductable, should I take it in for the gas gauge, or just take it to my usual mechanicif I have to pay them $100 anyway?

Depends how much the lack of a gauge bothers you. "NOTHING" will make it accurate under 1/4 tank. If, it works then keep it over a half tank (saves your fuel pump). If, it isn't working at all then use the trip odometer to judge fill ups.

I'd say unless you do your own work have em replace it while it's still under warranty. A hundred bucks is pretty cheap compared to a new fuel pump and the labor to replace it. Fact of the matter is a hundred bucks is pretty cheap for the pump by itself even if you do put it in yourself. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the pump and sender are replaced as a unit.
