Some ONLINE DEALS too Good to Believe?

Post by F9K9 »

My new Canon SD600's battery pack doesn't seem to last very long so, I went shopping online for an extra or two. MSRP is just under $40. Best I could find on Ebay was $22 with $10 shipping. I decided to Froogle the part number and found them for $12.92 and $8.50 shipping at a site called REDORBIT. I bought 3 batteries and still the same shipping costs.

It's raining here and I just started looking around the site. That link that I provided takes you to an unbelievable deal on USN Mil Spec 7 x 50 Binoculars #8073485 for $4.95! They have other deals like that but, you have to look.

Reading the specs, they are new and the real thing. I'm ordering them just in case it was a typo to see what transpires.

Time passes.......................................................................................

Alas, I was unable to order them due to some software glitch that said that shipping was unavailable to me. The batteries went through flawlessly. If, anyone orders any of them, order eight for me and I'll reimburse you. Those suckers would easily bring $100 and up on ebay if, they are genuine. At 2.9 pounds each and nitrogen filled I am convinced they are quality units.

OK, they must have a techy glitch in there. I tried and it doesn't have an option for meathod of shipment so it doesn't let ya complete the order. :? What's seems too good of a deal is too good, some'm up.

I'm gonna give them a call on Monday. Everything else seems to work. I've got email confirmation for the camera batteries. I appreciate someone else trying to order them.

If, it is not software glitch, the only other thing might be that they are intended for export only. Thanks for trying, David.

Did you try ordering with something else? It seems to go through just fine that way. Shows them with no shipping charges and the other item has shipping charged.
Everything goes through and shows the order processed.

This should be interesting now. The first link is on page 22 under optics/binoculars. I just checked page 23 and the same item (different catalog number) is listed for $249.50. Needless to say, I ordered a "few" more along with a $10 tripod. Shipping was under $7.00 Worse case scenario is that they arrive as junk and I ship them back at my expense. Best case scenario is that I am well on my way to that jeep beater I saw this past week.

REDORBIT called me today. I was waiting to hear about some terrible mix up and that they couldn't fill my order. They were actually calling to verify my address because I had forgotten to select Kentucky from the drop down list and had left it as Alabama.

So far so good. :!:

Compare them to the ones on page 23. Descriptions are exactly the same.

I know....and that's what is worrying me. It's possible they accidentally duplicated the description onto an inferior item.... But I dunno. Maybe we'll luck up. :)

I got 10 "lens cleaning, microfiber" cloths. I emailed Joel P with a copy of my invoice that had the above quote to ask what is up?ImageImage

Not yet. I attached my invoice to my email when I sent it to Joel. Include your original order number and the one that came with the cloths.

I included both. The catalog/item number for the cloths is the same as the one online. Hopefully they'll do something about it.

There is a hyphen in the cloths. The nocs don't have a hyphen/dash.

October 30th and it was to good to be true. I finally got a cal today where their vendor admitted that it was a mistake. They only have 7 prs left at the $250.00 price. Oh well, it was worth a shot.
