Everyone, I would like to propose a new contest. The title speaks for itself.
Here's my entry:

I like it! I'd make that my saturday night dinner and movies car!
The Aztec doesn't look too bad running 32's and a color other than yellow.
You all will have to excuse my tastes, remember I drive a HenryJ.
Most of the ugly ducklings are just in need of a few mods to bring out the swan in them.

It might play a "catchy tune" , or sound like a supercharger rolling up to your back door

How does it get to highway speed with that freaking wind catching hole in the front.

Twin turbocharged 500 caddy would do the job

I would be scared to death, have you tried to look through the windshield in the pic. It reminds me of those funhouse mirrors.

After seeing some of the other entries, I doubt this would even make top 10. Still, I couldn't resist.

Wasn't one of those in American Graffiti? That is enough coolness to exempt it from something like this

Come to think of it, you're right. I guess I should withdraw my nomination based on that. It's been a long time since I saw that movie! They really aren't that bad looking, in a quirky sort of way.
I knew someone who had a Citroen "Deux Chevaux". It was a blast to ride around in. If I remember, they don't weigh much (3 fairly large guys can pick one up and walk away with it) and have a air-cooled 2 cylinder that cranks out around 15-20hp. It was only good for maybe 45mph but got almost 50 miles to the gallon around town. With the price of gas these days, I wish I could find one.

Me too. That is about what my bike gets. The VW bug was originally slated for a 2 cyl. 2 cycle engine. The problems led them to install the air cooled 4 cylinder instead while research continued. They never did get the 2 cycle engine for it that was promised. I think it was Wolfsburg's plan?

I think the very early prototypes may have had a 2 cycle but I'm not sure. I have some books on VW's somewhere that may say but I have no clue where they are. One of these days, I really have to get back to cleaning the basement before the wife makes me live in that mess down there!

They did, however there was a problem with the cases becoming liquid
They melted down, and I think it was Wolfsburg , or perhaps Porsche who vowed to solve the problem, but it never came to be.

Uh, some of them still do that!
Either that or lots of shrapnel!
