Welcome to the site! What kind of gas mileage are you getting right now? My gas mileage has improved alot over stock with the mods I have. I used to get 14/16 city/hwy, and now I get 18/20 city/hwy. :D

So far the driving i'm doing is about half city and interstate. I live off I=75 so it hit it when I can. On my last full tank of gas I got about 280 miles. but that was sucking fumes at the end of the tank. If i'm not mistaken I've got a 17.5 or18 gall tank. This truck is not as my 4x4 blazer and it know I got over 300 miles everytime, same gear ratio too; 3.42. Also I'm pretty easy on the pedal always. While I was at wal mart today I bought some high dollar Chevron fuel system cleaner. Maybe this will help. If not, then on to plugs and wires I guess. Anymore suggestions?

So your averaging 16 mpg. That's not bad for stock. With some mods like Jeff024 mentioned above you should be able to get another 2-4 mpg. :D

Oh Gawd, we had to go here again

I just hope that replacing my cap from the stock one will improve my mileage.
Image helps :(

I haven't seen 18 mpg since last year.

My crew is at the dealer now to fix my CD player, clear out the vent holes in the distributer (that may be why the cap was so bad at 12K) and the AT flushed, refilled and the "Motor Silk" added that the extended warranty claims will buy me an additional 25K warranty.

Went to the salvage yard today in my 95 ZR2 filled up when I left and when I got back all highway miles got 22mpg, best I've ever got in this truck. Usually get average 16mpg but rarely sees the highway. So excited had to tell someone :nana:

That is a coincidence. The best mileage I ever got in my '97 ZR2 was in your home state and that was 20 mpg

I am finding out that with the HPPIII my truck gets around 16.5-17.5 mpg on 87 octane and around 18.2 on 89 with the programming set for 87. I also find a difference of about 1 mpg between the two stations I have been using to get gas, so if your milage needs improving try a different brand gas for a week or two and see if that helps. this is 75 % highway miles 25% city, with as much driving as possible on cruise with the tach below 2000
