I drive firetrucks for a living, and there's nothing like the sound of an air horn to get peoples attention! Does anyone have a discreetly mounted air horn? I'd love to put one under the hood or somewhere it cannot be seen.

I would think that one of the electronic horns would offer several different types of horns, maybe even something close to an air horn, and allow for a little more flexability for the install.

Air horns take up quite a bit of space, even if the compressor is seperate.

i have thought about this many times, i am tempted to mount one to my bumper, my dad is a fireman, i have always loved firetrucks and everything about them, i plan on becoming a volunteer as soon as money making allows me, i would also like to put a set of hide away strobes in my truck, which i might just do when i get home

years ago (late 80's/early 90's) I had a black electric 'airless airhorn' on my old '82 S10.. It was black, two note, and had an adjustment to control what pitch it was, from almost as low as airhorns can get, to nearly the high pitch of the 'pep boys specials' that all the taco trucks around here seem to like..

It was pretty compact too.. may 2" thick, 5 or 6 long, and 4 or 5 high.. on the '82 it easily fit between the radiator and the grill and couldnt even been seen, but man could you hear it .. I had it set to low end, somewhere around the tone our local firetruck..
When I got it I think it was at Grand Auto or Kragen.. wasnt expensive either.. I wish I still had it or could find another one someplace, but havent seen them in years.

I know that JCWhitney offers a few electric 'air' horns.

they are a local company out of Tampa that sales train horns, most people are mounting this set up behind the grill, but train horns are played outdown here, like every other lowrider or big truck has them,
