Stock paper cone speakers are GREAT!

Post by Snake Eater »

I've been into car audio since i was about 12. Been installing since then too. Everything from custom, fiberglass, MDF, Lexan, high end, and low end.
Now, in my ECSB Silv. i have all Infiniti component speakers and 2-12" Comp VRs and it sounds nice.
In my Z28 I have all Polk audio components and 2-12" Comp VRs and it sounds nice.
And finaly in my Blazer i have the stock paper cone speakers, JVC head unit, and 1-12" JL Audio W3. It by far hits just as hard as the other 2, but the highs are so much louder and clearer. This is the first time ive ever run into this. Why is the cheap stock cheapo's better than my other highend components? They are the clearest, most tone defined highes i've ever heard.

Anyone else impressed with the stockers?

Yeah...they're pretty good. The main problems with distortion and bad sound is the head unit. I thought my stereo sounded like crap at anything close to half volume or above. Once I replaced the head unit, it was nice and clear (comparably speaking) and had much better distortion free volume range too.
