Post by HenryJ »

OH my frigg'n GOSH! :o

:thumb: GO MAGELLAN! :thumb:

I just got my SporTrak Pro back from Magellan for the cracked case warranty job. As their way of compensating me for the inconvenience and shipping that I had to pay, they sent:

New replacement unit (SporTrak Pro)

Windshield mount base (retail $50)

soft carry case (retail$20)

protective cover with belt clip ($? didn't even know this existed)

12v car adapter (retail $20)

Pc adapter (retail $20)

lanyard

complete set of manuals

ALL FREE OF CHARGE! I now have every accessory made for the SporTrak! I would say if you are in the market, In my opinnion save your money until you can afford Magellan

Contact by email was great, quick warranty service, and benefits. Not to mention a unit that works great and is easy to use.

Sorry if it sounds like I'm "gushing" but I'm pretty excited :D

Nice! My Friend has a Magellen 330x and he loves it. We use it all the time when off-roading. He already has the car cord, mount, CDs and cradle as it came with his but that's nice! My friend has the Magellen in-car GPS and it's really nice too. He got a free upgrade of maps for no charge as well.

Cheers,

UPDATE:

I know that in the past I have recommended using the swivel mount in the console cup holder for the handheld GPS.
I must change that after this trip.
While using the laptop for navigation and the hanheld for Geocaching, it became apparent that having the handheld under the laptop was just not going to work very well for long periods of time while using both.
The windshield mounted handheld would have been much better.
On the next trip I will be testing it's mounting. It uses suction cups, and I have had doubts about this for offroad. If this doesn't work well I may have to try plan "C" ;)
