Time for a new muffler.

Post by snocat1 »

Got in my truck to come and I a little rumble coming from under my truck, so when I got home I see a broken bolt on the trans cross bar. So was wondering a good muffler to get and what for set up to run with.

I would go with a 3 chamber Flowmaster. It will give a slight performance sound. A 2 chamber Flowmast might be a little to loud.

Yikes......I personally despise the flowmaster sound. Chambered mufflers resonate like crazy, and have a tendency to drone a bit as well in my experience.

Get a Magnaflow. 2.5" single in/out. Probably about 14" long maybe a bit longer if you want it quieter. They're stainless so they will last a good while.

I've purchased about 4 from www.hottexhaust.com for various vehicles, and have yet to be dissappointed.

i personally like to keep my vehicles quiet, but still free flowing. i have a stock muffler from a 2002 5.3L Siverado sitting in my garage, that i plan to install someday, when time permits...

No don't have emmisions checks anymore. How much do Flowmasters cost?
