cold air intake

Post by loki »

Hey hey!!

I have been looking on ebay, and I have found several cold air intakes. Can anyone tell me why k&N intakes are more expensive? I spent about $500 on the one for my xtreme. I can find the for less the $30. Are these cheep ones any good?

The K&N FIPK includes a heat shield , replaces everything from the TB to the MAFS and from the MAFS out.
The others just replace the section from MAFS out and usually do not include a heat shield.

I have one of the cheap systems on my truck. It certainly does increase the airflow over stock. I did just add a stainless steel heat shield to my system as well. I really do not see how a more expensive system would work any better but it would look more refined.

I am sure that the modded / swissed airbox and headlight support was the best bang for the buck. Personally I think it added almost as much performance.

I run a modded airbox (from this sight) and a drop in K&N. It give as just a much power as the K&N FIPK that I run on my other truck. All in personal choice I guess :D

Hey hey!!

I've been reading the reviews of the sellers, some pretty nasty stuff. Anyone have a good seller they can recommend??
