K&N does have a much better reputation, and their systems are made more for performance than looks, but who knows maybe the AEM can deliver the same performance. :? ??

I have the AEM and am very happy with it. There is a noticable difference in power and sounds better. I work next to a dyno shop and they ran a before and after run. Baseline stock Hp was 147.2. Peak AEM HP was 155.2. Largest gain 11.3 HP at 5500 RPM. Baseline toque was 201.8. Peak AEM was 206 with largest gain of 10.9 at 5250 RPM. Hope this is the info you need.

One thing is for sure, K&N's filters are much nicer than AEM. I have seen a few local Hondas with the AEM setup, and IMO they look really cheap, but I have not seen their truck version up close, so they could be nicer. :?

 These are the same exact numbers that AEM has on their web site.

http://trucks.aempower.com/pdf/dyno/21- ... Torque.pdf
Are the numbers on their site from your truck? :?
K&N also has a dyno page.

AEM used a 1998 S10 with ? miles, while K&N used a 00 S10 with 44k miles.
AEM peak hp 155.2, K&N peak hp 164.06

After looking at the numbers again, I guess it's possible that AEM's 98 S10 had way more mileage than the 00 S10 and it's 2 years older, which would mean maybe these numbers are closer.

My truck is an 03 crew with 10k on it. But the numbers are almost exactly what AEM posted. I have not had a chance to dyno it after installing the dual exhaust and HPIII.

Your numbers are exactly what AEM has on their dyno sheets right down to 1/10 of a horsepower.

I would guess you picked up another 10 hp and 15-20 ft. lbs. of torque with that combo. :) See if they will dyno your truck again. It is nice to know what kind of real power gains are picked up from aftermarket parts when starting with a stock engine. 8)
