I've never had a prob with my stock setup, so I can just set up something to switch what is up there now. The goal is to get the Low range gearing with only RWD.
Keep us informed on what you do.
I've been thinking about adding an electric vacuum control solenoid from one of the late model Ford trucks as a kill for the front axle actuator. Although it may be as simple as intercepting the wire that activates it, Dunno.
I may have to find some time to look into it.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. It's definitly some sort of electrical switching that activates it, cause it's a button. I got to check the schematics. It may have some sort of thing where it won't let just one be activated by itself. I would think just take the wire that supplies the switching to the closest part of the axle thingy and intruduce a switch. But I am hoping that won't set off some sort of code error's that would disable the whole 4x4 stuff. If so, maybe something can be replaced in the switch that make the computer thing it's on.

That or use the Ford vacuum solenoid to deactivate the vacuum? there still may be a switch on the axle to tattle on us though.

Bears looking into.

(I'll split this topic since we are getting off the stock topic ;) )

There is someone that has a fix to this and is keeping it a secret cause they may patent it and sell it as a mod. But I will find a way!
