MAF with superchger

Post by snowsurfer »

Just wondering if a Performance (Granetti) MAF would be worth installing for added power on my Powerdyne SC 03' crew? If it's worth the extra $$$??

I've always heard bad things about the Granatelli MAF's from F-Body guys. You're best off just porting the stock MAF and getting custom tuning.

porting and tuning

Getting custom tuning in Hawaii is almost out of the question. There are a few other MAF's out there , Jet etc. are they all the same?

From what I used to hear, any aftermarket MAF is crap. If I were you, I'd invest in LS1 Edit for your truck. With the blower on there, it would be worthwhile to get it. Spend a day at a dyno shop and tune it right once you get the hang of the software. I know a guy here in Phoenix that knows LS1 Edit tuning inside and out. If you want I can send you his e-mail.

LS1 is the V8 engine in late-model Camaros, Firebirds, and non-Z06 Corvettes. LS1 Edit is the software used to tune the PCM's in those engines, but they've recently expanded to cover other GM engines...but it's still called "LS1Edit."

I'll look around for the guy's e-mail and PM it to you.
