Speedometer Adjustments

Post by melloyellow »

Ok. I got some mods done and would like to get my speedometer adjusted. I talked to two different Chevy shops today and both say the speedometer can't be adjusted outside of the P245 or P275 range on the 2003. So how do I get it adjusted for the 31's? By the way can't wait to get home. Got called today and my ARE cover is waiting to be installed. :D

Thanks

That range should be plenty good enough for adjustment.
265-75/15 =30.6"

Play with the calculator at the bottom of the page on the website

(just for fun- 275-85/15=33.4" and 245-70/15=28.4" )

I think you were getting a BS story. The ZR2 is an S-series and comes stock with the same gear ratio and 31" tires.
I would want to see the options , myself right on the TechII.

The fullsize even has an option for a 25 series tire on 22" rims, I find it very hard to believe that we are limited to 245-275.

Yes the options onthe tech 2 are limited to those spec's as above of 245-275 because of the software it uses for each specific truck as it reads the vin and loads the specific options that are availbale for that truck. The computer is capable of accepting numbers outside that range from other sources (read HPP3, Jet chip, etc.).

OK, I will still think it is BS , until I see it for myself. That range seems pretty unrealistic since the 235/75-15 was the optional "offroad" tire and they must have calibrations for the stock size too.

Like I said in the above post the fullsize had a large list of tire sizes which even included up to 22" rims! Sure seems that 31" tires would be included for the s-series even if you have to convert to the metric measurements.

Heck, the programmer lets you go up to 33's! Maybe bigger, but I'd have to check, I just know I remember 33's being in there.

Is there a particular place people are buying these from at a good price? A local place wanted $500 for one.
