I want to repower my cc with a diesel, i'm thinking a cummins 4bta would be a rockin engine. It's all mechanical and easy to work on. But with all that extra weight up front (it weighs something like 700 lbs) i'd have to do a sfa swap up front. Thats a year or two out, i need to scrounge up the money first, but i think it would be a sweet truck.
What do you guys think.

The South American versions come with a diesel option. Search around, theres a thread around here on it somewhere.

fpieri, how is that thing power wise? It looks like the turbo on there is really small.
Eventualy I plan to swap a 6.5L Turbo diesel and 4L80e from a 97-00 truck into my CC. The 6.5 is pretty much all the same dimensions and mount points as a SBC so all of the 350 swap parts should work. I will be doing a body lift to get the extra space under the hood and for the bigger trans to clear the tunnel. With the 3.42 gears I have in my CC I should beable to get 25-30 mpg and still have tons of power.

Hi PonyKiller,
MWM Sprint 407TCA is 2800cc 4 cilinder, it has 132CV of power, there is another model with electronic inyection Sprint 407TCE with 140CV of power.
They call this engine "end-less" because of it durability, reliability and economy. My CC reach a speed of 190Km/h. You can see videos in youtube.
Chevrolet (Brasil) use this engine since year 2000 until today.
My cc gives me 10Km/l in the city and 13Km/l in the highway with the regular (bad) diesel. If i use a better diesel it gives me up to 15km/l in the highway wich is that the manual specify.
GM 6.5L Turbo diesel is very good and is V8.
take a look at www.vimeo.com/5800746 we spent last sunday playing at 4x4...
