Taylor Spiro Pros (pdf file)
Taylor Thundervolts (pdf file)
Lets take a look at the differences!
SP - 350 ohms per foot resistance
TV - 50 ohms per foot resistance (less is better, more voltage reaches the plug for increased hp, tq., and fuel economy)
SP - 8mm wire
TV - 8.2mm wire (slightly higher dielectric strength)
Both wire are good up to 600 degrees.
The Spiro Pros are available in 8 different colors while the Thundervolts are only availble 3 colors.
The only advantage I can see that the Spiro Pros have over the Thundervolts is that they are available in more colors if that's imortant to you.
Spiro Pros direct fit set @ Summit for $55
Thundervolt direct fit set @ Summit for $60
For only $5 more the Thundervolts are simply a "better" wire!
I rest my case..............maybe!

There is more to it than that if you look a little closer.killian96ss wrote:The only advantage I can see that the Spiro Pros have over the Thundervolts is that they are available in more colors
I rest my case...
8mm wires will fit in the stock wire separators. Bigger will not. That adds expense to the installation.
The molded end prevents rotation, offers a better grip and seals better than the slip over boots.
The spiral wound SS is more durable than the softer nickel / copper.
Each has advantages. Why do you think they sell more than one wire set?
If you are really looking for an extreme performance wire and don't mind buying new separators, cut to the chase and go with the "409" 10.4 mm wire. This is the bullet proof high heat / high power ignition wire set. Actually recommended for use with MSD and electronic ignition systems. Be prepared. It is like running ignition hoses.
Any wires are better than stock. Taylor wires are a good choice. Hard to go wrong there.
BTW. This topic was split as off topic from another thread. All this is a repeat from a thread over three years ago: Plug wires We are doomed to repeat everything it seems.
