better radiator

anyone ever install a better radiator than stock? mine is having isues....when i first got the truck the radiator was leaking from the plastics end on the side near the battery. no problem i figured someting got on t and it chewed away the plastic. replace the ends andnow its starting to do it again. any idea whats causing this? i have some pics of it a couple months ago, but now it looks like its gonna spring a leak sometime soon.

Battery venting acid? Not as common with sealed batterys but they do still have vents.

Weird. I too would suspect perhaps battery acid?

I don't imagine you have some litmus paper around to test the area with do you? Probably not , so dip a Q-tip in a mixture of baking soda and water then brush it across the affected areas. Look for a reaction to acid.
If it foams , acid is your problem. Get rid of the source (replace the battery) and neutralize the surrounding area by washing down with the baking soda water.

Replace the battery with a sealed battery. I like Optima. If money is no object I have been tempted to try Oddessey.

For the new radiator use the Extra Capacity Replacement Radiator. RockAuto had the best price IIRC. A search will find the thread.

well i already put a new battery in there. ive got an optima now. i will try the baking soda thing and see what i come up with.
